Milebrook House is a 3 star, Country House Hotel and award winning restaurant situated on the river Teme in the heart of the Welsh Marches amidst the typical wooded rolling hills of the beautiful Teme valley.

The hotel, once the home of Sir Wilfred Thesiger the famous writer and explorer, enjoys the ultimate borderland location, situated 2 miles from the picturesque market town of Knighton (Tref-y-Clawdd – The Town on the Dyke) in Powys and 12 miles from the busy town of Ludlow in Shropshire with its medieval castle, beautiful architecture and famous market.

Across the river are the Shropshire hills which are designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". Just over the border is North Herefordshire, famous for its black and white villages, cider and Hereford beef.

The Offa's Dyke National Trail runs through Knighton, the footpath roughly follows the Welsh & English border, it stretches some 170 miles from Chepstow to Prestatyn. Glyndwr's Way National Trail is another long distance footpath (134 miles) that begins in Knighton, it runs in an extended loop through Powys ending near Welshpool where you can join up with the Offa's Dyke National Trail to make a circular path back to Knighton. It's no wonder Knighton is a mecca for walkers and ramblers. We are happy to pick up guests (by arrangement) who're walking the trails from the Offa's Dyke Centre in Knighton and drop them back in the morning to continue their walk

Milebrook House Hotel is also the perfect place to stay for bird watching, cycling holidays or for both the amateur and professional photographer with fantastic scenery and wildlife all around.

Knighton is on the Heart of Wales line, going through the most beautiful scenery, for those who wish to arrive by train we can arrange transport to the hotel, just ask for details when you book. It is also possible to travel by bus to Ludlow, as the bus will stop on request outside the hotel.
